Adolescent (13-17)
Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient

Program Guides Patients Toward Self-Management of Substance Abuse

The Intensive Outpatient (IOP) process starts with an overall assessment with the patient and/or a person close to him or her (such as a spouse or parent). The program highlights self-management, patient education, family involvement, and goal setting to manage symptoms, begin recovery, and help the patient return to a normal lifestyle.

The IOP treatment team has behavioral health professionals with expert experience in treating mood disorders and addiction along with medication management. Group size ranges from 3 to 12 patients, which allows individuals to receive personal attention in their recovery.

Exult also offers Yoga and Mindfulness, free of charge, for all of our IOP patients. We believe that it is not just the social or psyche that needs attention but the physical and spiritual as well.

Candidates for Intensive Outpatient Psychiatric Program

The Adolescent Substance Abuse IOP program is intended for people 13-17 years or older that are struggling with substance use/abuse, chemical dependency, or addiction. Appropriate candidates for the program have some impairment in their day-to-day functioning but are motivated to change and make a commitment to treatment. IOP patients are capable of independent functioning. Most patients work or attend college when they are not attending the program.

For patients experiencing a mental health crisis, the intensive mood disorder team is ready to help them with treatment.
